Washington State’s #1 Skydiving Center!

Licensed Skydivers FAQs

How long does it take to get there from Seattle?

We are located 8 miles east of Everett and 27 miles North-Northeast of Seattle. It takes approximately 45 minutes, without traffic, from Seattle.

How much do jumps cost?

Prices are as follows: $12 plus $1 per 1000 feet. Prices are subject to change without notice due to volatility in fuel prices.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit, and credit. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are all accepted.

What do I need to bring for my first visit to your drop zone?

Valid picture ID, current USPA membership, your logbook verifying currency, and we will take a copy of your reserve data card.

What is the procedure for manifesting and payment?

After you have filled out a waiver, provided all of the above items, received a landing area briefing, and we have inspected your gear, you are free to manifest. We work on an honor system. Manifest throughout the day, and pay at either inside (all methods) or outside (credit and debit only) manifest before your last skydive. All accounts need to be cleared to a zero balance daily.

Do I need a check-out dive to jump at your drop zone?

No, as long as you are current through USPA standards and can verify your currency.

Do you have multiple landing areas? What does each require?

We have two landing areas. C and D-license holders may land at the airport (after receiving a briefing) and all other jumpers and students land at the alternate field ("East Field", approximately ¾ of a mile east of the airport). Licensed jumpers approaching their 200th jump must complete an accuracy jump worksheet proving abilities like spotting, vertical separation, smooth pattern, accuracy, and stand-up landings prior to clearance for landing at the airport. We provide free transportation back to the DZ from the East Field.

How often do you have to jump to remain current?

A License: 1 jump within the past 60 days
B License: 1 jump within the past 90 days
C & D License: 1 jump within the past 6 months

What are your minimum deployment altitudes?

A License holders: 3,000 feet AGL
B, C, and D License holders: 2,500 feet AGL

What are your rules about AAD’s?

We highly recommend them. Those jumping without an AAD are restricted to solos and two ways. We do not currently require AAD’s at Skydive Snohomish.

What time is the first load each day?

Weekdays: 12:00pm
Weekends: 9:00am

What kind of planes do you fly?

Currently we fly 2 Cessna 182’s, a 206, and a Grand Caravan. In the summer we lease a second Grand Caravan for select weekends. See the calendar on our website for Dual Caravan weekend dates.

What is the standard exit altitude?

The Caravan flies to 13,000 ft. as a standard. In the 182’s, two jumpers can go to 3,000 ft., three jumpers can go to 6,000 ft., and four jumpers can take the plane to 10,000 ft.

What is your exit order policy?

RW from largest to smallest group
Hybrids from largest to smallest group
Free Flyers from largest to smallest group
Tandems
High-Pullers and Wingsuits
(This order is repeated for each landing area.)

How are jump runs handled?

The drop zone decides the jump run. In the Caravan, jump run is east to west offset to the north or south based on the winds. When the green light comes on, open the door and spot. Exit at the ideal spot for you, keeping in mind everyone else on the plane. Please see the spot calculator here on our website.

Do you have rental/demo equipment available?

Yes. We have a variety of rigs for rental/demo. Each rental costs approximately $20 per jump or $60 all day. A current list of the equipment we have available is in the outside manifest area.

Do you have a designated area for licensed jumpers?

Yes, we have a licensed jumper hangar where you can pack and hang out. There is a fridge, TV, couch, and day-use lockers for your convenience. (Bring your own lock.)

Do you offer coaching?

Yes, coaches are available but scheduling in advance is recommended. The best place to check on coaching is on our licensed skydiver Facebook page called "Skydive Snohomish Jumpers".

Are there packers at your drop zone, and how much does it cost to get my main packed?

Yes. It usually costs $5-6 for a pack job.

Do I get a free jump if I bring a tandem?

We believe licensed jumpers have a goodwill responsibility to share the sport with everyone they know, and contribute to the overall success of the drop zone. To help facilitate this, we offer referral cards called "Dive Dollars" that give a $10 discount to your friend (first-time jumpers only) and a $10 credit on your account. Feel free to ask inside manifest for a stack of Dive Dollars to start earning jump money and share the sport with everyone you meet!

What are everyday conditions like at your drop zone? What can I expect when I get there?

When the weather is jumpable, we have a very active licensed jumper base with a number of student jumpers, and have the capacity to do more than 100 tandem jumps in a day. When our student schedule is full, we fly one or both Caravans from 9:00am to sunset, no shut downs, with room set aside in the plane specifically for licensed jumpers. Loads will turn every 25 minutes.

Do you have seasonal events, boogies, etc.?

Safety Day is a huge annual event at our drop zone in March. In the spring the Canopy Club is held weekly to focus strictly on canopy skills with free coaching and video de-brief. To kick off the summer season we host a fun event called Snoholympics. Throughout the summer season, you can expect a variety of RW and FreeFly events. See our website calendar for details.
