Your daughter has been looking forward to skydiving for years, and the day she turns eighteen is approaching. It can be scary watching your child jump.
We take extensive safety measures:
- We choose parachute systems designed specifically for tandem skydiving and based on their track record of reliability and safety
- We conduct regular gear maintenance and retire parachute system components well before lifetime limits
- During our off-season, each parachute system is completely disassembled, meticulously inspected, and maintained in any way necessary.
- Everyone jumps with two parachutes, both the main and the reserve. In the very unlikely event that the main parachute doesn’t open properly, there is a reserve parachute located in the top of the container that is meticulously inspected and packed every 180 days by an FAA-certified Rigger
- Every parachute system also includes an automatic activation device, or an AAD. The automatic activation device is a computer that measures speed and altitude, and automatically opens the parachute in the event your instructor is unable to do so. While we have never had a situation requiring the use of an AAD, these computers are an additional safety device of which we want you to be aware
- Every instructor is required to have at least three years in the sport and over 500 jumps
Skydiving is like any other extreme sport – there are inherent risks that require careful training and execution. Skydive Snohomish has been in business since the year 2000 with a strong focus on maintaining safety as our #1 priority. We have never had a tandem fatality, and we perform over 6,000 first-time tandem skydives every year. A record we work diligently and deliberately to maintain!
Consider jumping with them! Families often have a great time jumping together.
If you’re not planning to jump with them, we have a comfortable spectating area, where you’ll be able to see them land just in front of you.
